Under the new National Do Not Call List (DNCL), which came into effect September 30, 2008, there are certain kinds of telemarketing calls that are exempt from the National DNCL Rules. The exemptions include telemarketing calls made by, or on behalf of:
- Canadian registered charities (including North York General Foundation)
- Political parties, riding associations and candidates
- Newspapers of general circulation for the purpose of soliciting subscriptions
The Foundation's Telemarketing Policy:
At North York General Foundation, we respect your right to privacy and maintain our own in-house do-not-call list.
To be removed from our call list, simply contact the Foundation by mail:
North York General Foundation
4001 Leslie Street
Toronto, ON M2K 1E1
Or email email@example.com with the subject line:
"Remove from Phone Call List."
Note: Although the Foundation is exempt from the DNCL and is allowed to contact our constituents per regulations, we will refer to the current DNCL prior to and during our annual telemarketing campaign. This will help ensure, though not guarantee, that if you have registered your phone number with the DNCL we will not contact you at that number during our annual campaign.
