Lewis and Charlotte Steinberg unveil the new Steinberg Family Acute Care Unit as Ron Baruch, Chair of North York General Foundation Board of Governors, Dr. Tim Rutledge, President & CEO of NYGH and Karyn Popovich, Vice President, Clinical Programs, Quality and Risk, and Chief Nursing Executive, look on.
On Monday, May 15, members of the Steinberg family joined representatives from North York General to celebrate the unveiling of the new Steinberg Family Acute Care Unit on the 7th and 8th floors.
“As a hospital that cares for generations of families in our community, having three generations of your own family join us today is especially meaningful,” said Terry Pursell, North York General Foundation President & CEO.
Charlotte and Lewis Steinberg’s generosity has spanned nearly 20 years, touching many areas of care from the Charlotte & Lewis Steinberg Emergency to the Karen, Heather & Lynn Steinberg Breast Services, and beyond. Now, Acute Care can be added to the list – and patients and their families are already reaping the benefits, including: 40 beds (36 of which are private), spacious rooms, healing city views, and spacious corridors that accommodate mobility aids such as walkers and wheelchairs.
Mr. and Mrs. Steinberg’s generosity is helping transform care environments at our hospital.
