We are incredibly grateful to our corporate partners, for coming together in support of North York General. Your generosity, leadership and vision are helping us care for over 420,000 patients and families who rely on our hospital each year.
PFAFF Automotive Partners
PFAFF Automotive Partners' joined North York General Foundation to kick-start a three-year race to raise $853,000 to replace all of the hospital beds at North York General Hospital, and led support of our campaign with both a $150,000 donation and unique marketing efforts.
With deep understanding that to our patients, a hospital bed isn't just a bed, PFAFF's partnership has inspired the first wave of our three year campaign, titled: "It's not just a bed. It's a race car!"
This is not your typical bed campaign - we are taking our campaign slogan literally. PFAFF's Autoworks division customized one of our hospital beds with upgrades featuring race car design cues. To see how PFAFF transformed a hospital bed into a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup race car, click here.
"We are grateful to PFAFF for their partnership, and for helping to bring this campaign to life," says Terry Pursell, President & CEO, North York General Foundation. "This customized hospital bed is the perfect demonstration of our two organizations' commitment to racing to the campaign's finish line!"

The Dilawri Foundation and BDO Canada LLP
The Dilawri Foundation and BDO Canada LLP, in partnership with North York General Hospital Foundation are proud to announce the establishment of North York General Hospital’s (NYGH) first patient amenities fund with a generous gift of $125,000.
The Dilawri Foundation and BDO Canada LLP Paediatric Amenities Fund will support patients and families of North York General Hospital’s Paediatric Complex Care Clinic. This clinic helps patients and their families manage health concerns by providing centralized, integrated care, close to home. It’s a one-stop centre, providing care and coordinating treatment for children with complex medical conditions such as cerebral palsy, congenital heart disease, complications related to extremely premature birth, or children who have no clear diagnosis at all.
With this generous fund, NYGH will be able to provide additional financial resources to the children and their families who count on this clinic to help manage their illnesses on a daily basis. There are many unexpected costs for families with very ill children, such as meals, accommodations, and specialized equipment to help manage their child’s health. The new patient amenities fund will provide grants to cover these types of expenses
“Children and their families are at the core of The Dilawri Foundation’s work” said Co-founder Kap Dilawri. “NYGH’s commitment to excellence in paediatric healthcare is the reason we feel honoured to support such a valuable establishment. By partnering with BDO, we are helping to provide a valuable resource that allows patients to recover with the support of their loved ones.”
“We are incredibly proud to partner with The Dilawri Foundation and the North York General Hospital Foundation on an initiative that will help provide support for children and their families dealing with complex health concerns”, said Marco Zuiani, a partner at BDO Canada LLP. “It is our way of giving back to the people of this community.”
In addition to treating patients referred from North York General’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and inpatient and family medicine programs, children who receive treatment for complex illness at The Hospital for Sick Children, but who live in the NYGH catchment, are regularly seen in NYGH’s Paediatric Complex Care Clinic. The Dilawri Foundation and BDO Canada LLP Paediatric Amenities Fund is the latest example of NYGH's renowned focus on patient and family centred care.
