NYGH Foundation
  • No matter how many books you read or how much research you do, there are so many things you may not expect when having a baby. But as a hospital that has one of the busiest birthing centres in Ontario (we deliver about 4,800 babies a year!), we want to normalize every part of the process for every type of family from pregnancy, birth, and beyond. That’s why we’re compiling the submissions we get into a book- to make the unexpected a little more expected for others. So whether you’re going through the birthing process now or did it all decades ago, we want to hear from you. We’d also love to know if you were born or gave birth at North York General. With over 300,000 births since the hospital opened, we know you’re out there! "I didn't expect the umbilical cord to be so hard to cut - like a tentacle!" Tell us something you didn't expect when you were expecting and we may add it to our book.
