The Omnicell
Your support will contribute to the purchase of an Omnicell automated dispensing cabinet that establishes a safer process to ensure the correct medication is dispensed to each patient, as needed. The cabinet will be centrally located in Geriatric Services, keeping certain medications and supplies at the fingertips of the care team. Through fingerprint technology, staff can access these drugs quickly for timely administration to elderly patients, improving their overall care experience. Additionally, Omnicell technology keeps track of supply, alerting the NYGH central pharmacy when stock is low for specific medications.
Our New Long-Term Care Development
Our next chapter in our journey as leaders in seniors care will be one of our most ambitious projects to date – the design and build of a new Long-Term Care (LTC) development, which will include one of the largest Long-Term Care homes in the province, with 528 beds. NYGH in collaboration with the provincial government will design and build this landmark development. Our vision is to set a new standard in seniors’ living and care, with the home being part of a Seniors Community Hub with inpatient, outpatient, and community services across the NYGH campus.
