“We are excited to welcome Dr. Myran as North York General’s newest research chair and look forward to his vital contributions in advancing our applied research program that is transforming frontline care in North York and beyond,” says Dr. Richard Bowry, Vice President of Medical Affairs, Research and Education.
The Research Chair in Family and Community Medicine is named in honour of Gordon F. Cheesbrough, one of North York General’s leaders and champions. Mr. Cheesbrough was first appointed to NYG’s Board of Governors in 2000 and served a five-year term as Chair. He provided incredible leadership and vision to our organization, in service of our community. To honour his legacy, friends, family, and the business community established an endowment to fund the Gordon F. Cheesbrough Research Chair.
This appointment reflects NYG’s commitment to health equity and developing data-driven approaches to deliver equitable, culturally responsive care, leading to better access, treatment and outcomes for all.
Congratulations Daniel and welcome to NYG!
