About the Event
What is Rally in the Ravine?
On October 4, 2025 at G. Ross Lord Park, North York General Foundation (NYGF) will host our annual Rally in the Ravine — a high-energy run, walk and festival for the whole family, all in support of exceptional care at NYGH
When and where is Rally 2025?
Rally in the Ravine will take place on October 4, 2025 at G. Ross Lord Park in North York. Event schedule will be updated as the event approaches.

Registration questions
Is there a registration fee? Do I need to register to participate?
Yes, there is a non-refundable registration fee of $30. With that you will get a Rally kit that includes your event T-shirt, a race bib and other items, as well as access to all the food and activities on the event day. This fee helps cover administrative and operational costs and is not tax receiptable.
Is there a minimum age requirement to register?
Parental consent and supervision on route is required for those who are under the age of 16.
Can I register more than one person at a time?
Yes! When you register, select select ‘Register for 2025’ and ‘Individual Registration’. Once you have reached page 4 in the registration process, select ‘Register Family Member’ and complete their registration process. Once you have registered everyone, you can select ‘Complete Registration’.
How do I register a team?
When you register, select ‘Register for 2025’ and ‘Start a Team’. Once registered, you can then click the ‘Join Team’ button and share the link with your teammates.
Can I form a team if I have already registered as an individual?
Yes. Simply visit your Participant Centre homepage, scroll to the bottom and select “Change team membership.” Follow the instructions from there. Be sure to know the name of the team you’d like to join or the team captain.
Can I defer my registration to next year?
We’re sorry that you won’t be able to participate. All registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
I am having trouble registering online. What should I do?
We would be happy to help. Please contact us at foundation@nygh.on.ca.
If you forgot your username or password, visit the Participant Login Page, click ‘Forgot username?’ or ‘Forgot password?’ and follow the instructions. You will receive an email that prompts you to reset your username or password.
Can I register on the day of the event?
Yes, you can register on October 4th; however, we encourage you to register online prior to the day of the event so that you have the chance to fundraise on behalf of North York General, win great prizes, and ensure that you receive a Rally Kit.
Fundraising questions
Is there a fundraising minimum?
No, but we do encourage all participants to fundraise what they can. Every dollar goes to support the areas of greatest need at North York General Hospital.
What is the fundraising Incentive Program?
The more you fundraise, the more you win! Be sure to check back here to see all the amazing prizes and draws that you might be eligible for with your fundraising.
What tools are available to help me fundraise?
Your Participant Centre has all the tools you need to help you in your fundraising efforts. We’ve provided pre-written emails for you to send to your network of friends, family, colleagues, classmates and neighbors. Use the messages “as is” or edit them as you see fit. Be sure to also visit our Rally in the Ravine fundraising Tips page for more ways to raise!
How can I promote Rally 2025?
We encourage you to promote Rally 2025 on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest or any of your social media networks using our event hashtag, #Rally4NYGH. We recommend posting a link to your personal and/or team Fundraising Page.
When does fundraising close?
We will be accepting donation until October 13th, 2025.
Event day questions
When does Rally in the Ravine start?
Please check back here closer to the event! The schedule will be updated as Rally approaches.
Is this event timed?
The event is not being timed this year, but we encourage you to track your time on Strava or any other app for your own satisfaction.
When and where can I pick up my Rally Kit? What is in my Rally Kit?
Rally Kit pickup will be taking place at North We will be sending communication via email with details closer to the event weekend
What should I bring with me on the event day?
For a comfortable event day, please make sure to bring the following:
- Identification (government ID + health card)
- Cash, credit card
- Comfortable clothing
- Sunscreen and hat (baseball cap, bandana, etc.)
- Reusable water bottle
- Raingear (weather permitting)
- Running shoes
- Your Rally Kit
Will there be coat-check?
Yes! Coat-check will be available by our registration tent. While coat-check will be manned by volunteers, we recommend you keep anything of value on your person.
Can I bring my dog?
While we love your furry friends, Rally in the Ravine is not the ideal place for them as there will be many young families, runners, strollers, and wagons. We recommend you keep them at home and take them for a walk after the event.
Can I ride my bicycle?
No. For everyone’s safety, bicycles will not be permitted on the route.
What happens after the Walk/Run?
After the Walk/Run, we welcome everyone to join in on the fun at our Rally festival! Listen to our live bands, enjoy food and drink, explore our vendor village, and learn more about NYGH and where your fundraising dollars are going.
What sort of food will be available?
We aim to provide a variety of foods that represent our community. Please check back here closer to the day of the event for more information.
What route supports will be available?
The following route supports will be available day of:
- Stops with hydration fuel and washroom facilities enroute
- First Aid Station/kits
- Signage
- Volunteers
Donation questions
What am I supporting with my fundraising?
Your fundraising will go towards supporting the Areas of Greatest Needs at North York General Hospital. Our generous donors fuel NYGH’s relentless drive to provide exceptional care and unmatched kindness from birth and throughout life. Your support is vital and allows us to have the right equipment and care spaces to provide the best care in these life-defining moments.
Will my supporters receive a charitable tax receipt?
Yes. Anyone who donates online will receive a tax receipt via email. Those who make offline donations over $20 are also eligible to receive a tax receipt — please indicate on the Offline Donation Form whether each donor would like to receive one.
Can I make or receive cash donations?
Please mail your offline cheque donations to the Foundation by October 3, 2025.

Does the Foundation accept corporate matching donations?
Yes. In fact, we encourage you to ask your employer if corporate matching is available
Can donors give anonymously?
Yes. Donors have the option to keep their name and/or gift amount anonymous. Please note that some donor information will still be given to the participant they supported, as well as to North York General Foundation for processing purposes.
How is my personal information kept safe?
We make every effort to protect your personal information. The software we use for registrations and donations on our website uses industry-standard SSL encryption techniques to make sure that your credit card information, passwords, and personal information travel securely over the Internet. Credit card information is never stored in our database or our software provider’s database.
There is an issue with my donation. What do I do?

Volunteer questions
How do I volunteer?
Check out our volunteer page for more information and submit your interest there!
Is there an age requirement?
Ages 15 and Older:
Chaperone Requirement: No chaperone required.
Ages 13 and 14:
Chaperone Requirement: A chaperone (parent, guardian, or responsible adult) is required to be present and responsible for the volunteer for the full duration of their shift. The chaperone must check in and remain on-site with the volunteer at all times. They must be available to support and supervise as needed.
Under Age 13:
Eligibility: Individuals under the age of 13 are not eligible to volunteer in any capacity.
Can I select my volunteer role?
Volunteers may be subject to role-specific restrictions based on safety, physical demands, or other operational considerations. These roles will be pre-determined in planning stages and marked as such on job descriptions.
If I make a donation to myself, will I receive a tax receipt?
Yes.
