I cannot help but reflect on how the experience of the COVID-19 pandemic has made the transition back to a palliative care-centred environment even more timely.

Winter has come early with several snowfalls in the city these last few weeks. I am also just getting use to the shorter amount of daylight, which is a sign that the holiday season will soon be here, albeit a different sort of holiday for all of us.

Today, the new Steinberg Family Paediatric Centre, gracing the 4th floor of our hospital, opened to patients, families and staff.
