To mark the UN International Day of Older Persons, The Slaight Family Foundation announced a $500,000 gift to North York General Hospital to advance a home-based care model for seniors suffering life-limiting diseases.
After a terrific summer filled with extensive planning and anticipation – the day finally arrived. On September 4th, after many years in the making, we officially opened Phillips House, the new home of North York General’s child and adolescent outpatient mental health programs.

I love my job and I love my team. Last year, I participated in Rally in the Ravine. I felt proud to approach my family and friends to sponsor my 5K run because funds would enhance care at NYGH.
We thought it was just the stomach flu. But when I saw my mom a few days later, I knew something was very wrong. Her high fever remained. She wasn’t eating and she could barely even stand.
The actions we take as parents have a lasting impact on our children. It’s our hope that our gift to the hospital that means so much to us will inspire our children and teach them the supreme value of giving back.
The Gale and Graham Wright Prostate Centre at North York General is advancing prostate cancer care with a new study that shows the benefits of transperineal prostate biopsies under local anesthetic.
Our first floor is a hub of activity, as construction crews work to complete important renovations that will update and refresh a number of our outpatient clinics, patient registration/check-in and public areas for our patients, families and staff.
