Arlene Lieberman's Story - I'm In Good Hands

In good hands

While on vacation in Florida, I received a call from the Graham & Audrey Rosenberg Family Cardiac Care Clinic at North York General. A nurse told me that my mother wasn’t doing well and explained her symptoms. I knew I had to come home.

My mother regularly visited the clinic to monitor and treat her congestive heart failure, a progressive condition that impacts the heart muscle’s ability to pump blood. Symptoms include shortness of breath, fatigue and swelling of her legs, ankles and feet. She had recently experienced weakness and fatigue and had her blood checked at a lab to see if her condition was worsening.

The clinic told me that her red blood cell count was low, and they admitted her for treatment. I immediately booked a flight back home, but I knew she was in good hands. The Graham & Audrey Rosenberg Family Cardiac Care Clinic provides peace of mind. The care my mother received was exceptional. It takes a weight off my shoulders knowing she’s being routinely monitored by an amazing and caring group of professionals.

As my mother continues to be assessed by the clinic, we keep an eye out for changes in her condition and, working with the medical team, chart the best course of action.

As a family member, it’s important that I ask a lot of questions during my mother’s appointments. At the Graham & Audrey Rosenberg Family Cardiac Care Clinic, I always feel like I am heard.

With my warmest gratitude,

Arlene Lieberman
