Isha Kanani’s Why I Rally Story

It can be said that compassion runs in Isha Kanani’s family.

Isha is the daughter of North York General Hospital’s Chief of Paediatrics, Dr. Ronik Kanani. At 16 years-old, she’s learned first-hand that a life in service of others is a life well-lived, and she’s excited to give back to the community she calls home. She joined Rally in the Ravine in 2019 when her father encouraged her to participate, and she loves being part of something bigger than herself and supporting high-quality care at the hospital.

“I’m so excited that this year the run is back in person,” she said. “I am so thankful for this opportunity to take part in the run again. See you there!”

A high school student, Isha also works part-time as a dance teacher and babysitter. She includes daily walking or running among her past-times, and she loves how Rally in the Ravine brings together hospital staff, volunteers and the public to benefit the hospital that means so much to her and her family.

Following a two-year hold on the in-person event thanks to the pandemic, she can’t wait to see everyone together this year. She vows to continue supporting Rally in the Ravine for years to come.
