Linda Kuse, RN, North York General

Linda Kuse is surrounded by little ones – whether it’s her own grandchildren or the babies she helps bring into the world as a registered nurse in Labour and Delivery at North York General.

Linda facilitates the safe and healthy delivery of babies while caring for their families. She also mentors junior RNs, medical students, and residents to help build their skills and critical thinking.

No place like NYGH

Linda has worked at NYGH for more than 20 years and says that because of the multidisciplinary teamwork and the emphasis on providing compassionate care to patients and their families, she couldn’t see herself working anywhere else.

A Joy to Welcome New Year’s Babies

One of her favourite parts of her work is when she helps deliver New Year’s babies. She’s been privileged to do so several times at NYGH and absolutely loves it. Although she admits a workplace isn’t usually considered a ‘home’, Linda says the collaboration of interdisciplinary colleagues has brought her closer to many fellow staff members.

Unfortunately, COVID-19 has impacted Linda’s ability to be fully involved with her patients and their families. Today’s technology definitely helps her patients stay connected, but she says nothing compares with having the whole family witness the beauty of a new child coming into the world.

Eager to Give Back

Linda takes part in the NYGH Staff Lottery because the Foundation supports the hospital’s needs in so many ways. Supporting the staff lottery is only one of the small ways she can give back to the hospital.

As the latest Staff Lottery winner, Linda  plans to continue spoiling her grandkids, and treating herself to a spa day.
