Molly – her story
North York General’s Cardiac Care Clinic has been a lifeline for 100 year old Molly and her daughter Rita. When Molly was diagnosed with congestive heart failure earlier this year, the clinic provided instant follow up care and became a constant source of support.
“Our family is grateful to the clinic for being on top of mom’s health and for being so supportive through conversations both in person and over the phone,” says Rita.
When Rita recently phoned the clinic with a concern about her mom’s bronchitis, Molly was booked in for an appointment the next morning. An assessment revealed that Molly needed to be admitted for further care – a process that the clinic helped expedite.
Rita was impressed by the organized care and saw yet another example of how NYGH staff go beyond care. “Her cardiologist, and other members of the clinic staff recently came to visit mom – just to check in,” she says. “We’re so grateful for their care, compassion and genuine concern for mom.”
