General Hospital (NYGH). Not only is he passionate about the community he serves, he recognizes the importance of providing care closer to home to patients, when they need it.

As the team captain for “Radiology Runners,” Dr. Margau helped lead his team to place in the top two for staff team fundraisers at last year’s Rally in the Ravine, and this year he’s on track to do it again!

As North York General Foundation (NYGF) gears up for its annual Rally in the Ravine event on October 14, proudly presented by Concord, Dr. Margau is sharing why he is returning for another year.

Why do you support Rally in the Ravine?

Rally in the Ravine supports the best cause! We’re bringing our community together to help raise critical funds for some of our most needed services and equipment at NYGH. This benefits all of our patients and their families – some who travel just down the road, to others who come from far and wide.

What do you love most about this community event?

Not only is Rally in the Ravine an opportunity to help support our community hospital and support critical programs and services across North York and beyond, but it’s an opportunity to do something meaningful in a healthy and active way.

I am looking forward to this opportunity to see my colleagues outside of our typical work environments, and to meet the incredible families and patients we serve.

Why is it important to support our hospital’s priority needs?

We know that our North York community is growing exponentially, and our programs and services are critical for patients and their loved ones.  By supporting Rally in the Ravine, we’re ensuring we can continue to provide exceptional care to all the individuals we serve, especially in programs as vital as mental health and orthopaedics.

What do you love about NYGH?

North York General has the most incredible people – both patients and staff. Or culture is unmatched; it’s supportive, empathic, and resilient.  We see a vast demographic –offering unique and tailored programs and services to a culturally diverse community of all ages.

Anything else you would like to add?

I am so pleased that Team Radiology Runners is helping to lead fundraising efforts across our staff teams (again) – neck and neck again with Team FamJam (Family Medicine). I wonder who is going to win this year? We love a friendly competition!
