Although the government funds many aspects of our patients’ health care experience, it is community donations that support equipment replacements, technology advancements and other upgrades throughout our hospital.
Critical and day-to-day pieces of equipment are reaching the end of their lifespan and require increased maintenance to keep up with patient volumes. Advancing our technology is also crucial to ensure our patients have the very best options for care.

Help us build a new Birthing Centre
We are embarking on an ambitious project to transform our aging Labour & Delivery and Post-Partum Units into a modern, integrated Birthing Centre, built for every family, and every community.
At the Charlotte & Lewis Steinberg Emergency we are ready for anything. But we need more space — it’s just that simple. Our emergency team provides the highest standard of care and we must ensure this continues, even as our patient volumes rise.
We are carving out space to create additional beds in our Adult Mental Health Unit. Donor support will help fund this expansion and will also bring upgrades to patient safety, security, and comfort throughout the unit.
NYGH provides a wide range of care to our community, from birth to end-of-life. Each department shares one need: specialized equipment to help them care for patients and save lives.
