Chemotherapy Care - Forte's Story - North York General Foundation

Forte’s story

Having lived in the Philippines, Denmark, Sweden and Norway, Forte has visited hospitals around the world. “Nothing beats the care here at North York General,” he says.

The Aurora resident, who is finishing up his final chemotherapy treatments in NYGH’s Chemotherapy Clinic, says it’s the people at NYGH that make the difference.

“It starts with the caregivers,” he explains. “They’re the ones who make it so positive.”

It’s that positivity that brought Forte back to NYGH when his colon cancer relapsed. First diagnosed in 2014, Forte’s first round of colon cancer was treated through surgery and chemotherapy. After being given a clean bill of health, he and his wife travelled around the world for a year. When his cancer re-lapsed there was no doubt in his mind that he would return to NYGH for treatment.

As he nears the completion of chemotherapy, Forte’s outlook is bright. He is grateful for the expert care he has received at NYGH. “I am so blessed to have the best doctor and the best care here,” he says, smiling. “What more could I ask for?”
