North York General’s Youth Ambassador Program: Lead With Purpose

Lead With Purpose

Do you care about your community and want to turn that passion into real-world impact? The Youth Ambassador Program at North York General offers a meaningful way to do just that, right here at home.

As a Youth Ambassador, you won’t just be learning about healthcare, you’ll be contributing to the future of care in your community while building skills that will stay with you long after the program ends.

How does the Youth Ambassador Program Work?

As a Youth Ambassador, you take the lead — bringing your ideas, creativity, and passion to support North York General through fundraising that matters. Whether it’s an event, a campaign, or a creative initiative of your own, you’ll be raising vital funds that help power patient care across the hospital.

You choose a timeline that works for you and commit to a fundraising goal during that period. The minimum commitment is $2,500 over one year, but many Youth Ambassadors challenge themselves to raise more or continue their role over multiple years. Along the way, NYG provides guidance, tools, and support to help you succeed — and as you raise funds, you’ll unlock different levels of recognition.

Beyond the fundraising, this experience is about growth. You’ll build real leadership skills by organizing initiatives, working with others, and learning how to communicate with confidence and purpose.

“Being a Youth Ambassador gave me meaningful, hands-on experience and leadership skills that stood out on my university applications — and even more importantly, it felt incredible knowing my efforts were directly improving care for patients and families in my own community.”

– Former Youth Ambassador
